What are laminate textures?

When developing 3D interior design and selecting materials for repair, you will need high-quality textures in high quality.

Seamless virtual texture of the laminate is used to fill graphic shapes and set the background for web projects. On our site you can download a seamless laminate texture for free. Texture Types

The most common varieties of textures are:

  • The structure with the smallest grit. The effect of natural wood is created with emphasis on its porous structure,
  • Synchronous. The most accurate way recreates the structure of the fibers of a tree,
  • Rustic. Complete imitation of the treated floorboard,
  • "Butter". Velvety and soft structure with an inimitable sheen
  • Country. Full reconstruction of the old wooden floor with manual processing,
  • Aged. A surface on which imitation of cracks on a tree is without fail
  • Waxed. Imitation of boards that have been waxed

Seamless laminate texture from modern manufacturers, imitating all popular shades, such as: oak, beech, cherry, alder, walnut. And also creating a monolithic structure of wood.

Advantages

The laminate texture is seamless, has the following advantages:

  1. Creating the effect of the absence of seams due to which a special atmosphere of coziness and comfort is created.
  2. Aesthetically attractive appearance due to the excellent imitation of any surface.
  3. Affordable price.
  4. Excellent mechanical strength and wear resistance to all kinds of external influences.
  5. The product is environmentally friendly.
  6. Due to the use of a special protective layer, this laminate has a high resistance to fire.
  7. This laminate texture, of similar design, does not require special personal care.
  8. Subject to all instructions and recommendations, even a novice specialist will cope with the installation.

To ensure a stronger effect of the absence of connecting seams, laying must be carried out along the location of the window openings so that the incident light does not set off the joints.

Disadvantages

Seamless laminate texture has the following negative properties:

  • The most important disadvantage is susceptibility to moisture. If water that does not get on the surface is not removed in time, then its surface will swell and become unusable, and this despite the fact that this coating is treated with protective agents.
  • Laying on an uneven surface will lead to the destruction of the castle joints and subsequent creaking of the floor, and violation of the installation technology will lead to swelling of the floor and destruction of the structure.

This article examined what seamless laminate structures exist, as well as the main pros and cons of seamless performance.

Construction and classification

Laminated panels consist of four layers:

  • top - a durable, transparent coating made of acrylic (melamine) resin and designed to protect the material from moisture, dirt, mechanical damage due to shock, exposure to sunlight and abrasion,
  • second (or decorative) layer - paper on which a drawing is imitated of stone, wood, ceramic tile or other texture,
  • support panel made of chipboard or fiberboard with lock, which provides mechanical strength, heat and noise insulation, increases resistance to negative environmental loads,
  • bottom (stabilizing) layer - increases the level of rigidity and protects the structure from deformation.

Some manufacturers paste an additional substrate under the laminate on the lower layer to increase sound insulation qualities. Despite the complex and multi-layer construction the laminate panel does not exceed a thickness of 6-12 mm When buying, it should be borne in mind that thicker panels are more durable and are easier to assemble.

Exist all 7 classes of laminated panels:

  • 21 - suitable for bedrooms, classrooms, home libraries, serves 5-6 years,
  • 22 - for children and living rooms, serves 5-6 years,
  • 23 - for hallways and kitchens, serves 5-6 years,
  • 31 - used in hotel rooms, offices, in private houses and apartments, serves 10−12 years,
  • 32 - for small shops, receptions in offices, private apartments and houses, serves 12-15 years,
  • 33 - for restaurants, large shopping centers, bus stations, airports, serves 15−20 years (for example, laminate 33 class Tarkett)
  • 34 - sports coverage. Serves over 25 years.

Laminate is characterized by resistance to mechanical stress, prolonged stress, ultraviolet rays, stains and household chemicals, adhesive strength, anti-slip properties, hygiene.

Criterias of choice

Entering the construction hypermarket, one can get confused at shop windows filled with various materials from different manufacturers. Sellers diligently praise the goods and most often lie. In order not to make a mistake, you must have a certain amount of knowledge.

When choosing a laminate taken into account:

  • manufacturer - you should not purchase material from different manufacturers - regardless of class, it can have a different structure and thickness,
  • defining volume, you should create a stock of 10-15%,
  • the thicker the panel, the better - increases the strength and performance of heat and sound insulation,
  • moisture resistance - a simple laminate is not suitable for rooms with a high level of humidity. For example, it’s better for the kitchen to buy moisture-resistant material that is not afraid of intensive cleaning or spilled water,
  • smell - quality material does not have it,
  • light weight panels indicates low quality - small thickness, low density of the base layer,
  • the curved long end of the panel indicates long-term storage in inappropriate conditions,
  • laminate flooring guarantee refers to the top layer and determines the level of wear resistance and the rate of abrasion.

Styling methods

A quality laminate allows you to create a seamless flooring structure with two locks: spike groove (Click) - snap-on, and Lock (collapsible latch) - driving. The first is easier to install and damage to the panels is virtually eliminated. Assembling with Lock is a bit more complicated and requires a better foundation.

Laminate flooring is demanding on the base - it must be flat (with deviations of not more than 1-3 mm per 1 meter). Since this material does not tolerate moisture well, most manufacturers recommend laying polyethylene under it, gluing it tightly. Between the coating and the film, it is desirable to put thermal insulation (2-10 mm) - foamed polyethylene, foamed polystyrene foam, cork backing or wood-paper pulp. This allows you to increase noise and heat insulation qualities, as well as the appearance of creaks.

Both types of locks on modern laminated panels glueless. If the coating is mounted in a room in which wet cleaning is often required (in the hallway, bathroom or in the kitchen), it is recommended to apply a sealant to the locks, cleaning them from excess moisture.

Lay laminated panels in such a way that the joints were parallel to the rays of the sun. Otherwise there will be no effect of a monolithic structure. When laying, 2 main methods are used: one board and stripes. In the second method, two people are required for installation.

Laying on one board can be done alone and get a seamless coating. Two plates are connected at wide ends and sealed with wedges (sections of laminate), allowing to expand the lock and protect it from deformation during tapping with a hammer. During installation, make sure that no debris enters the lock - this will prevent the creation of a seamless texture coverings. This method makes it possible to also lay plates with an offset and get a structure similar to brickwork.

When mounting strips of board first are connected by short endsand, then the obtained strips are fastened together, having previously inclined them by about 30 °.

Laminate Flooring Rules

Since the basis of the laminate is wood, then it should not be too wet. Spilled liquid should be cleaned immediately, even if moisture resistant material is purchased. The first moisture system spoils the fastener system. From hot water, this coating is deformed, the appearance deteriorates, so after the spilled water is removed, you need to remove the plastic baseboards and dry the coating for several days. The use of hair dryers or other similar devices is not recommended.

The laminate does not require such careful maintenance as parquet - you need just remove dust with a vacuum cleaner or a well wrung wet rag. Once a year it is advisable to process the coating with special mastic. Do not use parquet care products - wax can destroy the top coating of the laminate. It is also not worth using products containing glycerin - it destroys joints.

Wood textures

In the production of laminate with a texture that simulates sections of different tree species, the leaders are:

  • oak - perfectly conveys the beauty of the annual rings of natural oak
  • beech - clearly conveys pronounced woody rays inherent only to this type of wood,
  • cherry - a pinkish brown shade of natural wood is diluted with the presence of gray. Transmits straight fibers, uniformity of a natural cut of a tree,
  • walnut - light beige tones, gradually darkening, reaching beige. The picture fully conveys the structure of natural wood,
  • alder - a light texture that imitates saw cut, a little darker than that of oak.
  • wenge - completely similar to natural wood, conveys all the beauty of ebony,
  • ash - an excellent transfer of the white color of the sapwood and the light core of natural ash. Maximum compliance with the natural pattern of tree rings,
  • birch is a lightweight tree-rings pattern characteristic of a slice of this tree is fully transferred to the panels.

What are the colors

Floor coverings made of laminate are quite popular and in demand. The reason for this is that modern capabilities allow the texture of the laminate to completely imitate wood surfaces and that, unlike natural wood, these panels can have a huge color variety. This is achieved artificially. However, all of them can be combined into several groups.

ColourWhat wood surface can mimic
Light beige
  • several shades of oak (snowy, Alaska, bleached board and others),
  • teak belgian,
  • natural elm
  • ash,
  • beech.
Yellow
  • oak: sunny, Viennese, honey and others,
  • elm enfield

A variety of colors makes it possible to choose panels that are suitable in design to the interior of the room, successfully fit them into the overall composition. White Yellow Brown Red Light beige Grey Dark

Seamless texture

The floor, on which there are no visible joints, creates a cozy atmosphere in the room. It is this floor that is obtained when using a seamless laminate as a floor covering. A seamless panel that imitates tree cuts exactly creates coatings indistinguishable from natural ones.

This material is very easy to install and can be installed even by a lay person. To do this, it is enough to carefully study the attached instructions. This is achieved due to the fact that docking locks very tightly connect the panels, as a result the floor looks like a monolithic coating.

So that no joints could be seen anywhere, it is enough to find a repeating report on the panel and make the texture seam invisible.

Which is better to choose

Laminated floor surfaces give gloss to the interior, without requiring extra financial expenses. Properly selected textures allow you to expand the possibilities of interior design:

  • Laminated panels with imitation of ceramic tiles or marble chips are ideal for the kitchen and bathroom. Dark wood textures will also look good,
  • in the bedroom you can put panels with a white or light beige shade,
  • classic brown shades of oak or pear will add solidity and sophistication to the lounge and lounge.

When deciding which laminated panels to choose for room decoration, you need to carefully consider the color and texture that emphasize the sophistication and uniqueness of the interior.
